About

In 2023, the Club Leaders Forum Advisory Board voted to expand the Top 100 Platinum Golf & Country Clubs to the Top 150, in response to the increasing number of clubs worldwide demonstrating excellence as per the Seven Selection Criteria.

The proliferation of "top 100 courses in the world" rankings in recent years has diminished their significance and undermined their credibility. Many of these rankings are influenced by internet and commercial interests, as some publications grant top 100 status to courses that advertise with them, while personal agendas also come into play.

The selection of Platinum Clubs of the World follows a transparent process overseen by a third party, with certified results. The voting Panel is instructed to consider the Seven Selection Criteria when casting their confidential votes. Platinum Clubs are expected to excel across all aspects of their operations, not limited to golf course quality or culinary offerings. The evaluation process encompasses the full spectrum of the Seven Selection Criteria, culminating in a vote that reflects the overall club experience.

"Platinum status is the most respected recognition a Club can receive. The introduction of the Platinum Clubs of Asia-Pacific will elevate the experience for Members and guests at Clubs throughout the region and bring the finest Clubs closer together. This addition will be a game-changer in the Asia-Pacific region where Clubs previously focused on the Top 100 Courses in the World. Now, the goal is to become a Platinum Club of the World or one of the 50 Platinum Clubs of Asia-Pacific."
